This week we had a very special visitor stay with us for the week. His name is Gus and he’s from Australia (which of course means I’ve had an involuntary/totally voluntary Australian accent the entire week).
We first met Gus as the First Mate/Captain on a Sailing Virgins Learn-to-Sail Adventure that Chad, me, and seven of our closest friends and family took for Chaddie’s 50th birthday.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve stayed in touch through DMs and FaceTimes – but while visiting a friend in Portland, he hopped an eight-hour flight (!!!) to Toronto to spend the better part of the week with us. It was magical, hilarious, and filled with so much fun.
But that’s not what this post is about.
This post is about ‘Present You’ creating ‘Future You’.
‘Future You’ being the ‘dream girl/woman’ version of you/your life that is all of your potential living out fully. That person does exist. You just need to get to know her and then start living as her.
When you do, you actually start creating her. And at a certain point they merge – you become her. Yes it gets a little bit ‘quantum reality / multi verse’, but hang with me… I’ll explain with an example and bring it full circle back to our guest Gustifer Robbins (one of his nick names I’ve bequeathed him with…).
So, Chad and I have a VISION of our ‘Future Selves’ that lives in my LIFE AT A TEN® Action Plan:
If you can’t read it – here’s the bullet point version of what my Future Me is up to:
- She spends part of the year living on their catamaran.
- She spends her time doing Discovery Calls from the flybridge for THE TEN SPOT® and her LIFE AT A TEN® Program.
- Her/Our kids and friends come sail with us all the time.
- Every day, she feels inspired and driven, getting to create and edit her Youtube videooooossss!!!
So what this means, is that over the next 5-10 years Present Me’s gotta get some shxt sorted out for Future Me. Which I’ve already started to do…
Here’s a few of the things I’ve done to make Her/Me happen by 2040:
- On that Sailing Virgins learn to sail trip we got our Sailing accreditation 101 – 103
- We’re planning another learn to sail adventure next year (and regularly watch YouTubes on the topic).
- We’ve picked out the boat and put together a plan to purchase.
- My LIFE AT A TEN Program was launched in part as the start to a meaningful business model that I can operate from aboard.
- I’ve started a YouTube channel (looking to get back into posting in the fall!)
- I’ve taken a bunch of courses that I know future me will want (nutrition ones, cooking ones, photography, etc)I’m trying to eat more Seafood (and like it), since that’s what’s going to be most available!
- And Gus already knows he’s signed up to be our Captain for at least the first six months (see, brought it full circle for ya…)
In short, I know that I will be living on that boat because I‘m taking consistent actions towards it.
I’m living my life today in alignment with that vision. I’m learning, building, creating – so that when I look back in 10 years, I’ll see a straight line from where I started to where I’ve landed. And yes, I’ll one day be running my coaching calls from our catamaran as the ultimate proof point that this shxt works.
Now – will I like living on a boat? I have no idea – but that’s a Future Me problem. ?
x.k
If you’re ready to stop floating aimlessly and actually set your vision, anchor it down, and get the accountability and mindset hacks to make it real then book a discovery call with me! Book a DISCOVERY CALL with me!
