How to Build an AM Autopilot Routine That Actually Works
The other morning, I posted a video in my LIFE AT A TEN® community while walking my dog at 5:30am, talking about how I need to rework my morning routine.
I call it the AM Autopilot Routine.
Why My Morning Routine Needed a Reset
My old weekday mornings looked like this:
Wake up between 5–6am ? dog walk ? make the boys’ breakfast, get them ready ? CrossFit at 8.
But life shifted. Jack’s in Grade 9 now, which means he and Blake handle their own mornings. My workouts changed too — goodbye CrossFit (back injury), hello swimming. And pool times don’t line up with my old schedule.
Plus, real talk: walking in pitch black with my pup at 6am? Every morning felt like the start of a Netflix true crime special.
So, yeah — new season, new routine.

Why Morning Routines Actually Matter
Because unorganized = overwhelmed.
When you don’t have systems, you end up living reactively instead of strategically. That means:
- You feel constantly behind and out of control.
- Your time and energy get drained.
- You lose the headspace for creativity, novelty, and fun (aka what actually generates energy + enthusiasm).
And worst of all, you can’t:
“Focus on what you really want vs. what you want right now.”
That’s the opposite of how we want to live.
The Power of an AM Autopilot Routine
That’s why inside Module 3: Always Organized of my LIFE AT A TEN® Program, I help women set up systems that streamline daily actions and put their lives on autopilot (in a good way).
When routines and habits are in place, you don’t waste energy debating what to do next. You just do it.
The goal is simple: don’t think ? just act.
That’s the power of an AM Autopilot Routine. It takes away the need for willpower. Even when you’re half-asleep, you just roll out of bed and follow the plan.
